Problem with comment

Varun_tomar June 15, 2020

Hi , I am facing issue with my Jira on my personal laptop since Friday, My comments are not showing, neither i am able to add any comment, Also i added the following content to my host file:

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handle within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

10.178.0.25 jira.cengage.com

I have done network diagnostics, Host file changes and none of them worked.Cam anyone one suggest some solution? Also while opening the dashboard of my team following popup message appears

We've detected a potential problem with JIRA's Dashboard configuration that your administrator can correct. Hide
Dashboard Diagnostics: Mismatched URL Hostname
JIRA is reporting that it is running on the hostname 'jira-prod-server1.cengage.com', which does not match the hostname used to run these diagnostics, 'jira.cengage.com'. This is known to cause JIRA to construct URLs using the incorrect hostname, which will result in errors in the dashboard, among other issues.

The most common cause of this is the use of a reverse-proxy HTTP server (often Apache or IIS) in front of the application server running JIRA. While this configuration is supported, some additional setup might be necessary in order to ensure that JIRA detects the correct hostname.

The following articles describe the issue and the steps you should take to ensure that your web server and app server are configured correctly:

Gadgets do not display correctly after upgrade to JIRA 4.0
Integrating JIRA with Apache
Integrating JIRA with Apache using SSL
If you believe this diagnosis is in error, or you have any other questions, please contact Atlassian Support.

Thanks.

We do need to get your urls fixed before we can start to look at broken comments and so-on.

What url are you connecting to in the browser?

What url do you have in "base url" when you go to Admin -> General Configuration?
