Problemwith CVE-2021-42574-Unrendered unicode bidirectional override characters in multiple products

Hello,

We have installed CVE-2021-42574 - Unrendered unicode bidirectional override characters in multiple products on Tuesday 21 Dec 2021 at 17:00.

Before the installation we got a backup of the database and Jira.

After the installation a few things are not working (link between eazyBI and Jira on the Dashboards, link between Jira and ODatas in the PowerBI add-on, etc.), so we want to restore the older version of Jira.

But the problem is that we don't want to lose all the issues and settings made from the installation to today. How can we restore the version before the installation without losing the changes of theese days?

Hi @OMC Mincotur When we upgrade the Jira database table structure is also updated for the new functionalities added in the application or installed plugins.

Downgrade the Jira is complex process but you can try the below workaround on staging instance to confirm if everything is working fine before doing the changes on production.

At the below parameters in setenv.sh file

JVM_SUPPORT_RECOMMENDED_ARGS="-Djira.downgrade.allowed=true"

Please take Database, Home, Install directory backup before the downgrade
