I have a Question how to get notification for a perticular user similar to gmail notification like if an issue is assigned to you means or if an issue has any update relevent to you or any one comment on by tagging you in an issue just like facebook, is there is any possible way i am expecting your answer's Friends. for example check this.

Hi Rajesh

I don't see an exact same way provided by Jira like your screen short in FB. However, similar function can be achieved by Jira dashboard

1. Create Jira filters as you need. For example,

   a. issue assigned to current users: assignee = currentUser() )

   b. or mentioned current user in certain fields: summary ~ currentUser() OR description ~ currentUser() OR comment ~ currentUser())

2. Create a Jira dashboard and add the above created filters as gadgets

You can see all you have interests to see in that dashboard

Yes i agree your point of doing those things in DashBoard but what i am thinking is sometime jira will give notification like licence expiring as an notification so what i think is option is available but some modification should be done
