Project Gadget going away? pausing before going away?

The Project gadget is perfect for our dashboard.  Once we are done, we make one click to open the current sprint for the project.  Simple.  Effective.  Useful.

Some curated statements from others in the forum:

• The "Issue Statistics" is NOT a replacement for Projects gadget. 
• The recommended alternative is not at all equivalent.
• The Issue Statistic gadget is simply useless for navigating to the current project's sprint.

I read one post that stated there would be another announcement on October 14, 2024 related to the ending of gadgets.
