Project Management

Jatin Bansal March 7, 2023

Hi Community,

I have been stuck at some use case

Our company basically has five segments: Investors, Partnerships, B2B, Internal Operations, Internal Borrower. I basically want to manage all the 5 segments through Jira

One question is that shall I create 5 different components in 1 project or 5 different projects.

If I create 5 different projects, then how do i maintain a single sprint for all the 5 projects, please guide

What will be more feasible solution and the easiest one to execute?

Also, I want to have the better knowledge on how to track team's progress, bandwidth, manage resources, plan based on the developer's bandwidths, have daily and weekly reports on the current projects.

In short, I want to have a complete guide

Note- I have used advanced roadmaps in the past, but managing sprints in that is quite difficult.

Please help.

Hi @Jatin Bansal, without understanding your context in detail, one approach is to start with a single project, and if you run into a roadblock that you can't accomplish within a single project, then consider splitting into multiple projects. If you do have multiple projects, you can specify more than one project in your board filter, so that shouldn't be a problem.  Caveat: My experience is with company-managed projects. If you're using team-managed projects, there seem to be many limitations on what you can do, and I'm not familiar enough to give advice on that.
