Project Settings > Apps > MS Teams Integration

I can log into teams, but can not select a team or channel.  The app is installed in Teams, any ideas why this isn't working?

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Sounds like you've done the integration of MS Teams with Jira, you don't need to select a Teams Group or Channel within Jira, your experience with this integration will sit within Teams mostly, where you can get into a specific Teams chat and choose the Jira app to start your journey.
