I've created a project using a project template (Operations | Process Control)
I've edited the workflow to remove many of the "any status can transition to here" transitions, leaving only <any status) -> 'Cancelled'
The other green one is 'Done'.
I expected the green states to mark tickets as resolved.
In JEMH, I have a comment-matching rule that says:
Issue Status:
Interesting; I would also expect in this case they would have automated setting the resolution, then. Can you explain how you're transitioning your issues to Done? Are you doing this from the issue detail screen, or from a kanban board? If the latter, is your Done status the right-most column?
If that's not it, I'm afraid I'm stumped on Cloud! (I'm on DC)
Hi Patty
The transitions are made in the ticket or on the board. I am not sure what the clerical people will favour. This project is their introduction to Jira, and I am happiest to let them exploere to create their own habits.
Yes, on the board, done is the rightmost column.
Also, I've renamed my status to 'Archived' so that it is distinct from the 'status template'(?) 'Done'. That change was made after this problem became apparent and it has not affected the problem in any way that I can see.

You will need to set a post-function on the statusCategory = Done statuses (green ones) which will set the resolution; this is not done automatically. When you add a post-function, choose "Update issue field", then set the resolution field to whichever resolution you want (like "resolved") The completed post function will look like this:

Hi Patty
Unfortunately, (I am coming-back to Jira after two years away) the new Jira Cloud Templated Projects do not allow post-functions.
(?) I am burrowing about, but it lookls like all the template workflows are hidden, as are the templated statuses, screens etc etc.
In this kind of Project, the transitions have 'rules', and these allow field updates, but Resolution, Resolved etc are not in the list of allowed fields. It really is very simplified. But, surely a green box means 'Resolved' in some sense, at least?
