I have many projects that use the same general version list, with some inconsistencies. JIRA projects that we have are all for the same product, so the version list needs to be the same. I would like to make every project use the same version list for fix and affected version drop-down selections. The only way I see of doing it OOB is to manually update the version list in each individual project each time a change needs to be made to the list. This is not sustainable.
Ideally, I would want a scheme for versions as there are schemes for other configurations like workflows, issue types, and fields. Are there any good ways of achieving this sort of version list consistency? I know there is the version synchronizer that exists as part of the ScriptRunner plugin, and I will likely have to use it if there are no other good options.

Versions are artifacts of a single project. That is why you need an add-on to manage the same versions for multiple projects. Have a look at this plugin:
