What exactly do you mean by "dependent" project? Do you mean the project in which the linked issue is located?

Each project has its own key (shortcut). So if you link the issue you can see the issue key telling you in which project the issue is located. If the project is not clear at that point you could then open the projects drop down in the main menu panel and click "View all projects" where the keys of all projects are shown.
