Query - Boards that are linked to more than one project

princejhcl October 26, 2022

We understand when we move projects from On-Prem to Cloud using JIRA migration utility, the boards that are linked to more than one project will not be migrated.

Is there a way to query these boards upfront and notify the users so that they will know these boards will not be avaiable post migration.

Please advice.

Hi @princejhcl

The closest that you would be able to come is to look at who the Board Filter is shared with, and then notify that Group/Project Role/etc.

Does it mean i go through every board and see if there is a share available.... please advice

Unless you can figure out a way to see the list of boards and who the filter is shared with. I am not aware of a way to programmatically do that.

No, there's no searches for boards or contacting people who might be using a board.

You will need to work through the list and contact people manually.

There are close to 1000 projects we are migrating and we are doing staggered approach (30 project  at a time).

If i will be able to get the list of boards, i can manually try to contact people and inform them.

But is there a way to get the list from the system using some JQL or DB query.

I am afraid it is the same answer - you need to manually go through every board and look at the settings.  A database query can't give you anything more than a list of boards to check.
