Is it possible to use the API or JQL to determine the date that a custom field was modified? This account is with a cloud instance but I am really trying to solve this on a server instance. I recognize that those may offer different solutions options.
Given the field has the value I want.
simply
"custom field approval" = "Approved"
I want to get the date the custom field value was set.
As you pointed out, the solution varies significantly between the cloud and server. There is no out-of-the-box solution for this issue. You will need to create custom fields independently for both the server and the cloud, and the code implementations will also differ between the two.
On the other hand, there is a one-size-fits-all solution by Appfire's Enhancer Plugin. It comes with Field Change Date Custom Field which calculates the first or last date that a field was changed. It is searchable and sortable.
Please bear in mind that I am one of the guys behind this app and I might not be impartial.
Thanks for your reply! That sounds like a good long term solution. Its probably 6 months or more for approval for us. Is this something that works on data center/server?
If not do you have any other suggestions for data center/server approaches?
