Random Thumbnails In KANBAN view ???

symeonidisfx March 4, 2022

Hello,

I noticed that the behavior of showing thumbnails in kanban, is unexpected and does not let me control or change it...

I have seen that for some tasks that have attached images, they seem also in task's thumbnail in kanban view, but there is no control to disable them or select which one makes sense to have as preview

Basically, they also extend a lot the size per task and I'd rather not show them at all...

Some times, they appear even when the original task did not have an image attached or in description and just a commenter posts a screenshot in a comment, that is not really that important to be the task's thumb... (eg. copy paste bitmap directly from windows snipping tool screenshot in his comment)

Is there any documentation why and when this happens and how to disable or control which image and what dimensions it takes there ?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @symeonidisfx ,

This seems to be related to this issue: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-7667

symeonidisfx March 7, 2022

Hello, thanks for pointing this out, seems to be exactly what I was trying to explain...

But wait a minute!

This bug was created:   20/May/2021 5:44 PM

So, such a blocking and annoying bug that is found and reported almost a year ago, is still in conversation and thinking ???

This is a simple enable/disable checkbox if the user wants the board to be trashed by random images and thumbs shown on their own or not, why can't they simply make this option and keep "gathering interest" ???

Interest from whom, this is common sense, who wants his board trashed by randomly picked thumbs that might be attachments or comments or whatever, no logic behind...

This makes no sense at all !!!

This should not be more than one hour to patch or at least, provide user the option to disable something buggy and tricky as that
