Activation of parallel sprints in a project with same and different team

Deleted user August 29, 2018

Activation of parallel sprints in a project with the same and different team. For example, we have 2 Teams. Backend and Frontend team. Both teams are working on the same project but different tasks, timelines, and scope. Sprint 1 belongs to frontend team and Sprint 2 belongs to the backend team. At the same time, Sprint 3 also belongs to the backend team. Now I want to active all 3 sprints at the same time but I am unable to do that. Although I have already enabled the multiple sprints checkbox using the administrator site.

@[deleted],

Go to the project settings > permissions > and check the manage sprint permission. Either your name, a role or a group you are part of should be listed. In the event that it is not, edit the permission scheme under Jira Admin Settings> Issues> Permissions scheme> locate the permission associated with the project> click permission>edit> add yourself, a project role or a group.

only Jira admin can access permissions page.

Ask your Jira admin to give you manage sprint access so that you can able to start and manage sprints.

I already have site admin permission. Do I need some other permissions too?

Hi Rafia,

  1. This is a feature in Jira that must be activated under Jira Software configuration. You can find more details here. Please note that you must be a Jira Admin or System Admin to make those changes. Even though you stated this was done, it wouldn't hurt to double check.
  2. If you're using the same issues on multiple sprints, it will not populate. Are they different issues from different projects?
  3. Have you checked your filters?

The question was previously addressed here.

Hi Mary,

  1. I have already enabled the First option.
  2. No, I am not populating the same issue in multiple sprints.
  3. I don,t about filters. Could explain more about that.
