I will start by saying that I know I can do this on a board, but I'm trying to set my daily starting point with a comprehensive summary and view of all tasks assigned to me throughout my company. I'm also into the Summary feature found in Timelines; I saw that it's available in my personal project and have been banging my head against my desk ever since, trying to find a way to add a filter and pull all tasks, regardless of project, to this space.
There has to be a way! Can anyone help?
sadly, for business project this is not configurable. Business project always shows only those issues, which belongs to that project.
But I think what you are looking for can be achieved with dashboards - simply hit "Dashboards" in the menu and create your own one. It takes little practice, but I think you can easily set it up (look for gadget called Filter result for example, that will print you all issues within a filter to your dashboard and such a filter can easily span accross all projects in the Jira). There are other gadgets to explore, but most of them works the same way - you give it a filter in the background and will show you data. E.g. all issues you are assigned to and are not closed, all issues that have due date in next 5 days, all issues that have been created by you and so on. Feel free to play with layouts, gadgets and so on and customize it just how you like it.
Small tip on the side - if you click your profilo photo in the top right corner and go to Personal Settings, you can set your Jira homepage to "Dashboards" to see you dashboard as the very first thing once you open a Jira.
