Add status after resolution without affecting charts

I am trying to add a few extra statuses and transitions after the final resolution screen.  When I to this it messes up all the reports and items do not show up as completed even though they are resolved.  I have tried adding only yellow in-progress status and also the green "complete" ones.  I want to add a few extra steps to move the stories to production after the sprint is complete.  What am I doing wrong?  I am not sure if there is a way to reconfigure which status the "complete" is based on.

I dug up the answer, the charts are based on the left and right columns of the board.  I had added one additional column on the right and that threw off all the charts.
