I have added an issue and it does not appear in the Kanban board, but when I look at the filter, it does. This issue was cloned from another board. I have checked all my fields and Kanban board settings and it will not show up. There is nothing new that I have done here except that I cloned an issue, and that the Kanbans are now displayed differently by backlog & whatever.
What does the board's sub-filter say? The default for Kanban is a look at fix versions.
Does your second issue have a fix version?
That solves it. I had a fix version set. I unset that, which is fine, and the issue now appears on the board. Is there a way to include the issue in progress when fix versions is set?

I just also noticed that the resolution is DONE. Why would an in progress issue have a DONE resolution?

I suspect you may be setting the resolution accidentally, or possibly not clearing it.
If the resolution is on any screen that updates an issue, then it will be set to a value - you can't leave it empty. So if you have it on the edit screen, any edit of the issue sets it, even if the user didn't intend to.
Similarly it's possible to run an issue through a workflow where the resolution is set when closing it, but then the admins forget to put "clear resolution" on re-open transitions (14 years and I still forget), so previously closed issues remain resolved.
To include issues with a set fix version, you could modify the sub-filter that is excluding them to something more appropriate for your done issues. A minor problem with that is that the Kanban "resolve" button at the top of the done column will not match the filter, it will still just put a fix version on the issues. As the sub-filter is no longer that, the button will no longer clear out the column.

If you see the issue in Board filter, please check board configuration >> columns section.
I think you have an unassigned status.

Still not a solution. I went to the Column Management for the board and I saw that there are 2 issues for IN PROGRESS status. Yet, I do not see the 2nd issue even if I have changed the status to backlog. I have unassigned the issue, assigned to another and then back to me. It never appears in the board.
