Adding 'label' to card customization

Amber Elinsky October 23, 2024

Hello,

I am trying to customize the cards in my software Jira project. I was able to have the label appear on the cards before, but now they have stopped appearing on the card and 'label' has disappeared from the 'Customize Cards' drop-down list options. Is there another way I can get the labels to appear on the cards?

Thanks!

HI @Amber Elinsky

What I'm reading on all previous comments it seems to be happening in a Single project in your instance and not on all issue (cards) in the project.

This seems to me as an indexing issue on your instance. As it's not possible to trigger a re-index on a Cloud instance, raise an issue at Atlassian Support.

They could check the instance backend an might see issues in the logging.

I will do that, thank you!

Hi Amber,

Go to your Board and click on "View settings".

Check if "Labels" is enabled?

Hi!
I am working with a team-managed project rather than a company-managed, so the interface is a bit different, but yes I do have Labels enabled.
The labels do still appear on older cards that I created last week, but not on the ones this week, although I have assigned a label to each card.

Welcome @Amber Elinsky

  • Is your project team or company managed?
  • For company managed, when you go to Configure Board option and the Card layout do you have your Labels field added?
  • If you are using Scrum, there are labels for both Backlog and Active sprints

Hi Nikola,
Thanks for this.
It is a team-managed project.
I do have the Labels field added and have been assigning labels. However, they appear on cards that I completed weeks ago, and now no longer appear on new cards that I create.
I have change no settings since then, and do not see the Labels option to add in the Customize Card drop-down list.

Have you tried in incognito mode and different browser?

Amber Elinsky October 23, 2024

Yes, I have tried both and neither worked. I have tried logging out and back in, refreshing the project, editing the configuration of the cards by removing 'Label' and readding it, creating a new label, etc.
The 'Label' option in the Customize Card drop-down list appears in other team-managed projects that I have, but has disappeared from this one.
