Hey Jira Community!
We are trying to start using Advance Roadmaps and align it to the Pods structure we have for our teams.
What is the best way to approch this?
Here's what I've tried so far -
- create Initiatives (equivalent to legend)
- Create epics under initiatives
- Add/create private teams for each of our pods.
- Assign the epics under initiatives to the appropriate private teams.
We are able to have a top level view of all initiatives and to be able to see status on them.
The teams have to view issues under each of them to see their backlog of work.
Is this a good approach to moving to AR? We are currently used to having our own scrum boards(projects) and this approch will be a big change from that.
If there's a better approach, please explain and I Thank You in advance!
What are you trying to use Advanced Roadmaps for? Are you trying to better understand and be able to show in a schedule/roadmap form the work that needs to be done by your team?
You can create a Plan per team and then create an overarching program in Advanced Roadmaps without needing to use the initiative issue type in Jira Software. Here's a step by step guide on getting started with Advanced Roadmaps.
If you need more help, I offer consulting services to assist organizations create and utilize Advanced Roadmaps better. You can reach out to me here.
Hope this helps.
