I tried and searched on internet or hours but nobody probably had my issue before.
I have an Advanced Roadmap and 2 questions. I took over the role of PO due to sick leave of collegue. He has an AR and all of the epic names on this roadmap start with the exact same thing followed by variable information like, i dont know if this is configured as a view somewhere or as filter, but it is like below:
2025_Q1_PI (<< grouped by label, this is a label)
Epic Name Generic | ''name here 1''
Epic Name Generic | ''name here 2''
Epic Name Generic | ''name here 3''
And this board is based on filtered on labels in the Custom View. The label is: 2025_Q1_PI.
I have added a new epic with a new story under it as child with the label 2025_Q1_PI. The story is not showing with the partent epic. the name of the parent epic is Epic Name 2. I changed this to Epic Name Generic | ''name here 4'', it showed up. But in the category, Other issues. The child Story with label: 2025_Q1_PI does not show up on the roadmap under this particular Epic. I updated the Epic Name Generic | ''name here 4'' with label: 2025_Q1_PI. This Epic now showed up in the right place with the others, YET the story is still not presented while it matches ALL the filters. Why is this happening? Why is the story not shown? Its just a newly created story with no description whatsoever, it is a CLONE of a story that IS showing up under one of the other Epics.
Hey! I've hit this exact issue before - it's usually the Epic Link field not being set properly even when labels match. Go to your story, edit it, and make sure the Epic Link field actually points to your epic (cloning sometimes misses this). Also check if there are date range filters, status filters, or team/sprint assignments in your roadmap view settings that might be hiding the story despite having the right label. Try using "Add child issue" directly from the epic instead of creating separately - that usually fixes the hierarchy relationship issue.
I tried every bit of your instruction and it will not show up, the story wont show up. I made it configuration-wise/edit-wise identical to a story that does show up. Yet no result.
1. i tried clearing the epic and set it again
2. i checked date fields (empty), i check status (set to New, just as some other stories that have the same status, I check sprint or team assignment ( all empty which is ok). The View settings _only_ look to labels.
3. added a new child issue from Epic drop-down menu, also this did not succeed. You could say that there is something wrong with the Epic? But even the Epic is configuration-wise exactly the same as other Epics that show up, only a different name as described in first post.
Only one last option is in the TEAMS tab, there are some teams added, the filter is hidden due to lack of permission. I might check to see with Admin what team filter is used here... But all other options failed... If someone has an idea how this could happen or how to fix, please share. I will keep investigating in the mean time.
