Hello,
I am running JIRA 5.2.4 on Windows 2008R2 and am connecting to a SQL Server 2008 database.
I am in the process of sizing a new SQL Server 2008 database and am looking for some advice. I've reviewed the JIRA documentation on connecting to SQL Server 2008, in addition to the JIRA Enterprise configuration information and am unable to find what I am looking for.
The particulars of the JIRA instance are:
100 licensed users
60 heavy users, 40 occasional users
200 JIRA projects
25 custom fields
6 custom work flows
Initially 2500 issues (no attachments) with anticipated growth of 20 issues/month and an estimated 20MB/month for attachments.
I'm trying to figure out the initial size of the SQL Server 2008 database and how much it might grow on a monthly basis given an expected growth of 20 issues/month.
Any assistance/suggestions would be much appreciated!
Jonathan,
This really depends on the usage that your JIRA will have. Not just in issue number. But you can have a very small JIRA db with 200k issues that only have small comments. And you may need a big db if JIRA has 10k issues but they all have huge comments.
The best way to figure those numbers is to monitor usage.
Cheers,
Pedro
