Hey, great and happy people,
I was wondering if someone could help me create some custom charts for team metrics in Jira. I know what I want to do, but I'm unsure how to do it. Some examples are:
- Bar chart to represent sprint carry over (the number of items that were not finished in their original sprint, and moved to the next one)
- Scope change in sprints (how many new items were added or removed from the sprint after it began)
- Sprint predictability (% of planned items completed)
- Team throughput (number of items completed in a 2 week period; showing the average of the last five 2-week periods)
Probably most of these can't actually be done in Jira, but if there's a way to create a filter so I can get the data and update an excel spreadsheet, for example, that would also be great
Is there any app for this?
And about connecting Jira to PowerBI, I hear that with that we have access to different table sources.
Many thanks in advance.
Hello @Humberto Gomes,
Great to meet you and hear of your request for agile metrics to support your team's practices.
As an alternative to building your own reports or custom charts, Umano.tech's Team Performance Summary offers agile metrics that provide deeper insight into your delivery team's practices. Performance can be viewed as Snapshot (updated daily), Interval, or across the life time of a team's project, enabling teams to observe their trajectory and what experiments or events are impacting their delivery practices over time.
We chart everything you are looking for, and more - find out here.
Connecting Jira will unlock your design & build metrics (providing insight into your team's delivery attributes such as speed, stability, completion rate, progress) as well as feed your team engagement metrics (measuring things like your team's responsiveness and the balance of online communication across members within the project).
Connecting Slack or Mattermost will enhance the insights into your team's engagement metrics.
Connecting Bitbucket will unlock insights into your team's review practices, including review speed, time to merge (including approvers) and PR size.
Regarding Umano's snapshot lens, our customers particularly value the ability to self-compare their current performance relative to their usual (rolling median for the last 6 intervals) performance. We also surface the underlying drivers as context to why a team may be above or below it's usual rate of performance.
Interval Reports can be exported as an email.
We run a 30 day free trial, and will populate your project space with 12months of delivery data as default. Let me know here, or on chat @umano.tech if you have any questions and I'll do my best to see if we can help.
Good luck!
Chris
Hi,
Please, check the Demo dashboards of the eazyBI app for Jira. Those should cover most of the needs related to Agile reporting:

Hello @Humberto Gomes
Based on the description available, I can confirm that this is not possible using only the Native Reporting functionalities offered by Jira.
Some of my team members have created similar reports using the eazyBI plugin, available on the Atlassian Marketplace.
I would suggest you list down all the requirements and then evaluate the plugins available on the Atlassian Marketplace to select the best-suited option.
Based on the plugin selected and use-case, specific reports can be created.
Please note, most of the plugins provide multiple detailed reports as samples that can be customised as per your needs.
Please accept the answer if it helps.

Yes, and...to what Gaurav suggests:
When investigating possible marketplace addon apps, confirm they actually display what they indicate versus what you want/understand. I have seen some who redefine/rebrand basic agile measures in their reporting, or which have specific exceptions which may prevent getting what you want.
Kind regards,
Bill
