An issue moved to another project still remains in the original Agile board

Is this as designed? Is there a workaround? What is the proper procedure when doing this?

This is a known issue and basically a duplicate of https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/GHS-6541.

If this moved issue is still showing in the Agile board, you might need to reindex the instance to rebuild the search cache. If this doesn't work, try the following:

1. Shutdown JIRA.
2. Delete the following directory:
   • $JIRA_HOME/caches/indexes
3. Restart JIRA.
4. Run the reindexing again.
