Anything wrong after password change

We changed the following passwords for user root , but all of sudden the JIRA url cannot be reached any longer, wonder what is wrong ?

root is the root to access application server (linux) 

meanwhile, we also see another user on this application server, named as jira

database running fine

reboot application server fine

please advise

You should be using the JIRA user not root. You may create a disaster in the linux server if you are logging in as root.

The system admin should be able to fix the issue for you.

It is the best advice I can give you.
