Apps for linking Jira and Github - don't have to include jira number in the name of the branch

Hello,

Is anyone aware of any apps for integrating Jira with GitHub that allow you to reference the Jira number just in the commit message and not the actual branch name, and still get the information to show in the Jira item?,

Thank you

@Emily Bleything hi. I hope that by now you've managed to find a solution to your use case. I'll just suggest another tool you can use for your future Jira Github projects. It's called ZigiOps. It's a no-code integration tool that can connect the two systems in no time. You can customize it to fit various use cases of yours - such as referencing the Jira number, not the branch name. Feel free to look at it and book a demo if you want to explore it for future references.

Hi @Emily Bleything ,

OpsHub Integration Manager (OIM) supports bi-directional integration between Jira(Cloud) and GitLab out of the box. All the details related to a commit made against a work item in Jira can be tracked from Jira itself. All the details related to a commit can be synced to Jira in various ways.

A datasheet outlining GitLab – Jira integration can be found on https://www.opshub.com/gitlab-integrations/gitlab-jira-integration/.

Git Integration for Jira does this.

(At least, 2 years ago when I tried that app, it was possible.)
