Could you clarify, are Velocity Report and Velocity Chart the same thing, or are they different? If they’re different, how are they typically used in Agile teams?"
Hello @Prajwal Sapat
Velocity chart: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/view-and-understand-the-velocity-chart/
Velocity report: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/what-is-the-velocity-report/
Both cover a good explanation.
Hi @Prajwal Sapat ,
According to the documentation of the Velocity Chart:
"The fact that the Velocity report doesn't take into account added and deleted tasks after the sprint starts doesn't give us a complete picture of the sprint. "
Not taking into account subtasks does not give a complete picture.
If you don't mind using apps from the Atlassian Marketplace, I suggest trying the Sprint Report from the Time in Status app that my team developed (our report takes into account all types of work items, as well as subtasks in the calculation).
In addition to Team Velocity, you can also obtain other useful metrics, such as Workload, Scope Change, and Carryover.
