×Hi all,
I’m trying to understand the scope of Jira Cloud’s native backup feature. Specifically, I’d like to know if dashboards are included in the backup and can be restored later.
From what I’ve read, the backup seems to cover project data (issues, workflows, etc.), but it’s unclear whether dashboards are part of it. If they’re not included, is there a recommended way to back up and restore dashboards — perhaps using third-party tools?
Appreciate any clarification or suggestions!
Hi @Mohssine,
Yes, but be aware that Atlassian backups are intended for data recovery of your entire site and not to recover any loose items you accidentally delete yourself.
Currently there is a beta program rolling out of a new backup solution to enterprise customers only. This should allow granular restore of certain items. The documentation of the program does not mention anything about dashboards (which will become a separate app later this year, by the way).
If you want to be able to selectively control your backups for scenarios where users accidentally break things, it is still recommended to add a backup solution to your environment.
Hope this helps!
Hi @Walter Buggenhout ,
Thanks a lot for your detailed answer — much appreciated!
It’s great to have confirmation that dashboards are included in Jira Cloud’s native backup. That clears up my main question.
Since my client is on Jira Cloud Premium (not Enterprise), we unfortunately don’t have access to the beta granular restore solution. But it’s very helpful to know that dashboards will become a separate app later this year — that’s definitely something I’ll keep an eye on.
Thanks again for sharing these insights!
Best regards,
Mohssine
