Hi 👋
I'm in the following situation:
Each ticket in our team needs to be reviewed by 2 team members. Not everyone can review each ticket, and it's difficult to decide this in some kind of rule. For instance: we have mobile developers that mainly review mobile tickets, but in some cases we also want them to review web tickets for knowledge sharing.
That's why I would like to define the reviewers upfront in a custom User Picker (multiple user) field. We could do that during refinement.
When a ticket transitions to the "in code review" status, i would like to assign the ticket to a reviewer from that field in a "balanced" load way.
However
I can't seem to find an option with the "assign user" action for project automation to achieve this. It can only fetch users from groups or some fixed ticket fields.
Any creative solutions to this ?
@Michael Andolfatto , that app seems to be not updated soon. There is no support for Jira 9.x and also no DC version is available. So, I don't think it's a good idea to give it a try.
I am one of the folks behind Appfire and I'm responsible for an app called Enhancer Plugin which has the Smart Assignment post function that offers several strategies (round robin, last active user, total number of assignments, total remaining estimation).
However, I believe that might not be sufficient for what @Senne Croughs asked.
Hi @Senne Croughs ,
I believe I've used this plugin a long time ago for a similar use case: Round Robin Assignment for JIRA & JSM | Atlassian Marketplace
You'd have to play around with it to see if it could meet your specific use case but it does seem to support referencing custom field values.

thanks, indeed it looks like I have to define a user group upfront and per issue type(?). And that's something I can't put in a rule at this point
