Hi, I am having problem with Atlassian Companion app, when i open an excel spreadsheet, I am getting an error.

Excel cannot open the file "xxxxx.xlsx" because the file format or file extensions is not valid.  Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file.  

The excel file is fine, we can download and open it with no issues.

I read elsewhere that this may be caused by the type of authentication you have e.g. 2FA can break it. It might be fixed but you may have to upgrade your version of confluence or Jira  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-57593
