Hi,

I am looking for recommendations on how to set up Jira for a large business unit and came across Atlassian Organization. Atlassian Organization seems to be the way to centrally manage multiple instances of Jira.

Couple of questions that I could not find answers for:

  1. What is the scope of custom issues/fields in context of the Atlassian Organization? Are the custom issues/fields restricted to an instance or will all custom issues/fields be available to all instances under the organization? Also what would be the scope of custom workflows?
  2. Can users search for issues across multiple instances if they are set up under a single organization?

Best,

Kalindi

@Kalindi Pathare organizations will be useful to manage access to the different environments but each instance is a separate thing. They won't see each other as one and won't be integration between them. There are apps that allow you to do different levels of integrations but they'll never be one. Question would be, why would you manage multiple environments and not merge them if they are supposed to work as one?
