Automate Jira Task Creation from Teams Chat Based on Keyword –Seeking Third-Party App Recommendation

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to automatically create Jira tasks whenever a message containing a specific keyword is posted in a Microsoft Teams Group or Personal chat.

Could you please suggest any third-party apps or tools that can help achieve this integration?

With the app Microsoft 365 for Jira, you can set up a Teams integration that reacts to keywords posted in a Teams channel or in the personal bot chat (though not directly in group chats). These triggers can then be used in Jira Automation to automatically create new tasks. You can even link the Teams post directly to the Jira issue for better context.

Just noticed that Atlassian is introducing another AI feature for work creation from MS Teams. Although it doesn’t appear to create work items automatically, it’s still worth exploring:
