Automatically add users as watchers to an issue

Is there a way to automatically add users to the watchers list when an issue is created?

You can do it in a JIRA Listener or in a post function that can be added to Create workflow transition.

Hi Jobin, I'm trying to use a post function to add a watcher during the create issue transition and I can't find the one you're referring to- I can see one such script for "Adds the current user as a watcher".  Am I missing something?

FYI- I'm not well-versed in listeners.  I've read the article however I'm not 100% sure how to add a listener for the create issue event where it could add a watcher or watchers based on component type.
