Automatically link story to epic when cloning

I've recently started a new job. At my previous company when i cloned a story card, the new card would automatically inherit the same link to the parent epic.

With JIRA at my new company, I have to manually link to the epic after cloning (as below). any idea why? its annoying to have to do this manual linking every time.

Hi @Ty Kringle 

Cloned issues should inherit the Parent field from its original copy.

Can you check the History tab of the cloned issue to see if the parent link was somehow removed? Alternatively, check with your Jira administrator to determine if any automation clears the Parent fields in newly created issues.
