Automatically move an issue to another project when marked as completed. Can this be done in Jira?

I have setup a project for development tasks in dev team.

When an issue is marked complete and moved to Done in this project, I would like to duplicate the issue in another project (QA team) so that testers can become aware of the completed task and begin testing.

Any ideas on how to properly accomplish this?

Hello @Augusto Samame

I guess you need to think about additional apps to accomplish this and there are a few out there which can do that.

My favourite is Jira Workflow Toolbox and the feature you are looking for is explained here:

https://apps.decadis.net/display/JWT/Create+issues+and+sub-tasks

You basically need to set up a post-function in your transition to done to create a new linked issue. There are various configuration options for copying values etc. which makes the feature very flexible.

Good luck :-)
