I have some automated tasks that are created whenever a sprint is created. This works well. However, I would like to set these same tasks to be complete either at the end of the sprint, or after the first week of the sprint. I cannot see how to do this.

Hi,

You can do this by Automation. Add additional conditions depends on requirement like when automated tasks getting created use labels on them and add this label as condition in automation rule to not delete all taskssprint.png

Hi @Liane Hughes

Welcome to the community.

You can use the trigger "Sprint completed" in an automation rule:

If you need a delayed execution, with the same trigger you can create a specific work item with a future due date and then processing it with a scheduled automation.

Please accept the response if it is useful.

Kind regards

Hi @Liane Hughes -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

First thing: what is the purpose of the automatically created tasks?

And, if the team is using automation to automatically create the tasks for a newly created sprint, why would they not move them to done as each task is completed?  Doing this will eliminate any need to later complete them.

To your original question, the team could use a rule with a Scheduled Trigger to transition the tasks a week into the sprint's time frame.

However, to do so when the sprint completes adds another challenge: when a person completes the sprint, did they choose to move any remaining work items to another sprint?  If so, they would need to be removed from that future sprint to prevent them showing as completed in that sprint later.

Kind regards,
Bill
