Automatically updating fix version from gitlab ci-cd

We have a simple Gitlab ci-cd pipeline that runs the Semantic Release plugin on merge to master to update the semantic version, run the build script, and push the build to the artifact repository.

I'd like to be able to automatically update the fix versions of the tickets in that merge with the git tag of that build. I am assuming I can use Automation to run on successful build and update the version with Latest Tag but I don't know how that automation step gets triggered.

The Deployments tab gets updated with the latest version so something is sending that information to Jira but When: Build successful in automation does not seem to be triggering.
