Hello,
i am new here and i am not a Developer by myself but want to implent Jira for my workers. We have know a Sprint and the Employes have there own tasks and calculate a time to get it done. My problem now is, that there is no automatic Timetracking if the Task is moved to the Stage "in progress" They need to write it down manually. How can i log the Time frome the stage "in progress" to "done"?
Thank you for your help
HI @[deleted]
To the list of tools listed above, you can additionally try Time in Status for Jira Cloud by SaaSJet.
The peculiarity of this application is that it not only counts time in status but also has six additional types of reports (average time in status, assignee status etc.)
Using it, you can monitor all reports in chart views and as a gadget on the Jira dashboard.
Hello @[deleted] ,
What you are asking for, is offered by Clockwork Free and Clockwork Pro apps.
They allow enabling automatic time tracking so timer starts when issue/ticket is moved to In Progress status. Next, when the ticket is moved to Done, the timer value is logged/saved to Jira worklog.
Clockwork apps also give you a timesheet that allows you to browse and structure Jira's worklog in the form of a table.
Cheers,
Jack

Hello Vincent,
Jira already keeps all issue history for each issue but that is not the same as Time Tracking. Time tracking refers to the actual work logged by users on that issue. By nature, this has to be made manually by users if you want to use the Original Estimation, Remaining Estimate or Time Spent fields on your issues.
On the other hand, as I said, Jira already keeps all issue history. In the old issue view that John mentioned, you can see a Transitions tab that show nice but limited cumulative durations based on this data.
Control Chart of Jira Kanban Boards also show information on this for a group of issues. It is quite good actually but does not give you the underlying data.
I am afraid Jira does not offer anything more advanced out of the box.
To get better reporting on this data, our team at OBSS built Time in Status app. Using Time in Status you can:

Hi Vincent - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Jira measures the time that an issue sits in each status (stage as you call it). You can see that in the Transitions tab for each issue. It's called Time in Status.
You can use some add-ons like Nave or Actionable Agile to create reports that show the numbers/time.

Hello John_Funk. Thank you for your really quick answer! Sorry but i am still confused. As you can see in the Sreenshot the Task is the stage in progress but there ist no time logged. Where can i find the Transitions tap or the Time for Status.
Thank you for your help!
Stay safe!

Ah, the new view no longer shows that - sorry. The Old Jira Issue View will still shows the Transitions tab with that information. You can also install a Chrome Extension such as Jira Flow Companion or Jira Issue Cycle Time.
Or one of the paid add-ons - I would suggest Nave.

Sure - click on your profile icon/avatar. Then select Settings or Personal Settings (depending on which nav you are using).
Then about 3/4 of the page down under Jira Lab, simply click off the New Jira View selection. Then click your browser's back button. You should see the old view.
You can go back and forth between the new and old view anytime you want following that same path.
