Automation for Jira - create a trigger for "parent link" field edition

Hi,

I'm trying to trigger an automation rule (to create a new task), based in Automation for JIRA app when the field: "Parent Link" is updated

Creating a new rule:

The field: "Parent Link" is not available:

Other fields are ok:

Can you help? How can I have the trigger when "Parent Link" field is updated?

Parent Link field is not searchable field so you can't do this like you described.

I don't know what version of Automation for JIRA you have but please check branch rules feature - https://docs.automationforjira.com/getting-started/related-issues.html

Hi, I have the same question and the above link does not seem to work. Also, since the trigger must be the 1st event, I don't entirely understand what branching rules has to do with the solution.

Is this 'Parent Link' the link between 'Initiatives' and 'Epics' as per the Portfolio add on?

Yeah Portfolio has since been changed to "advanced roadmaps for Jira" but the hierarchy is

Initiative

• Epic (Epics are associated to Initiative through "Parent Link")
  • Tasks (Tasks associated to Epics through "Epic Link")
    • Sub-tasks
