Automation rules, tasks are created within template epic, not on new epic

Hi,

I have an old automation rule setup, that creates a number of tasks on a new epic, when created.  This had been working fine

When I went in to update the epic that we're using as the template (where the desired tasks for each new epic are stored), when a new epic is created, all of the tasks are being added to the template epic, not the new epic.

This used to work OK before (my time), but isn't now, with the only change I've made being the template epic

Hi @Roddy Scotland -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I suspect that your rule is either branching to the incorrect issue or is referencing the wrong one when the tasks are created.

Please post images of your complete rule, showing the task create details, and of the audit log details showing the rule execution.  Those will provide context for the community to help.  Thanks!

Kind regards,
Bill

I believe automation trigger is listening to Epic template as well and rule action is set to update the trigger issue. A screenshot of the rule will help. Thanks

Hi @Roddy Scotland ,

Is it possible to place a screenshot of the atomation rule ?

Probably somewhere in the steps something will point to a wrong epic
