Behaviours - copy readonly fields

Hi all,

in our JIRA workflow, I would like to make a certain field readonly. This is easily done with Behaviours, but readonly fields are then really "disabled", so that users not eligible for editing them, cannot even copy text from them.

Is there any way to keep the fields still "selectable" but not "changeable"?

(for now, I am injecting some JS-code into the announcement banner to turn the textareas with "disabled" state to "readonly" instead, which is still indeed readonly as it seems but allows copying and scrolling etc.)
