We are using JIRA and confluence, with the comala boards app, at work.
I'm trying to set up a simplified tasks list, without going full agile/kanban.
We would be using this board for a sustained period of time (year+) but it looks like if I set it up to hide 'completed' tasks, it deletes them?
We would like to be able to go back in our annual retrospective and check tasks completed, so deleting them isn't ideal.
Apologies if this is a stupid question - this is my first foray into confluence, comala, JIRA.
Hello @Blake Jordan,
Thank you for your question and trying out our app! Comala Boards and Jira Boards are not related and Comala Boards is not designed to integrate with Jira.
If you want to keep all your tasks inside Confluence, then you could set up your Comala Board to work with page-cards. Each card is linked to a separate Confluence page and can be removed from the board without deleting the page or its content.
Kind regards

I'm not entirely sure on that either! The interface is difficult to work with.

@Blake Jordan try clicking on the magnifying glass all the way in the top left of the page, and click on Advanced Issue Search. Once you're in the search page, it might be helpful to click on on the "Switch to Basic" next to the search button. Then, using the drop down fields, select your project and the Completed status.
You can then save this search as a filter to view later!

So in our confluence if I use the search/advanced search, I don't get a 'switch to basic' button. It seems to be doing a JIRA search, rather than indexing our comala board slash task list that I set up.

@Blake Jordan I should've clarified, do the search in JIRA rather than Confluence - the "Switch to Basic" search option is part of the JIRA search functionality.
I just looked up comala boards quickly - is the intent to use these to replace JIRA? I think you may be adding extra complexity with this additional tool, as you can have simple boards in JIRA with columns for tasks, with each task assigned to someone.

Ha. I wish I knew what the intention was. I was just given a confluence wiki and a subsection and told to make it happen. While clicking around I found a 'boards' section with a 'create a board' wizard and thought it would be great for a task page. My cumulative time in confluence/comala is about 2 hours, and my time with the JIRA interface on the back side is about 3 hours.
Functionally it does need to be in the confluence space, rather than directly on JIRA. The rest is up to my discretion as long as it works.

Could you not create a board in Jira and then link it to a Confluence page? Again, not sure about the comala functionality, but Jira would allow you to search issues, create saved searches/filters, even set those saved searches/filters to email your team lead every Friday afternoon with an update :) I don't want to get in the weeds of your organization's strategy, but you may end up double-keying info by using both comala and jira.

I know we've gotten way off topic from your original request, sorry! I answered at first thinking that you had a JIRA board that was hiding completed issues (which, if it was, you'd still be able to search for those completed issues).
