Bugs linked to user story not showing up on sprint board

A Bug of issue type "Bug" that is linked to user story is not showing up in the sprint board when user story is expanded, all other sub tasks are displayed but not "Bug". Please explain how this view can be configured.

As far as I am aware, the 'bug' issue type is not a sub-task but a standard issue type, on the same level as a user story, task, etc. I don't believe it will show as a "child" of the user story, but rather alongside it. The bug can be linked, but would need to be placed into the same sprint as the user story in order to see it on the same sprint board. I hope this makes sense...

I am not aware of any unique customizations that others may have done to their instances, in terms of sub-task issue types versus standard issue types, so I am just talking from personal experience. :)
