Bulk Import of Issues

How can one bulk import a CSV/XML/JSON list of issues from a different system into JIRA? I love the product, but the thought of migrating manually doesn't thrill my soul.

For JIRA OnDemand you can import issues using a CSV file: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Importing+Data+from+CSV

In JIRA Standalone you can use either CSV (https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Importing+Data+from+CSV) or JSON (https://confluence.atlassian.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=293830712), which is still in Beta. :)
