Bulk Operation Error - one issue has a status that forbids editing

Eoin Donoghue June 16, 2020

Getting this error when trying to Edit 178 Issues (change assignee).  Have done this multiple times in the past without this error.  If I select a few at random the error does not appear.  Is there a quick way to see which issue is causing the problem, I cannot go through one by one

Hi Eoin - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

The fastest way would be to edit your filter to remove two of the projects at a time and then go back into the bulk edit to see which one gives you the problem.

It's most likely linked to the Permission Scheme for the project that is giving you the problem. Either you don't have Browse Project permissions or Assign Issue permissions for that project.

Thanks John!  I found that on one of the projects I don't seem to have the required permissions.  By looking at the permission settings I am in the group that should be able to make these changes, so not sure why this is happening but will keep looking

actually only seems to be on closed issues in just that one project

Glad you found the project! Make sure you have both Browse Project and Edit Issue permissions on that project.  :-)

I had one issue in "Archived" status causing this. I changed the status of that issue and it worked.
