In Jira Data Center when doing bulk changes to 1000 tickets on tickets that have a security level jira takes so long that we get a time out. This also happens with big numbers like 700 tickets but only on tickets that have security level.
I am not updating the security level in these bulk changes, nor searching for the security level. Just updating tickets that have a security level set.
It this normal? or happening to anyone else?

and as the above mentioned ticket (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-77597) tells
"avoid using issue security"
is not a workaround.
This means avoiding a native feature you are offering. Breaking a main feature (that has been available over years - if not decades) and telling customers to avoid using it is more than frustrating.
We already have thoundands of issues with security level and bulk updating them worked in the past.
