Burndown chart not updated when the Sub Tasks and updated with logging work

Burndown chart is not getting updated as Sub tasks are updated with remaining efforts/estimates in hours. Ideally as soon as the sub tasks are updated with remaining estimates, it should reduce the estimate of the parent task as well as the Burndown chart should also be updated with this.

In Jira the burndown chart only gets updated when and only if the User Story/Task is marked resolved which is giving a wrong picture in reports.

please do suggest the solution for the same.

Hi @Nishant ,

unfortunately, there's no way to have your estimate at sub-task level impact burdown chart. Estimation should be based just at parent side.

Thanks for the response, basically it is a limitation in Jira, hope in future releases there can be a link made between Tasks - Sub Tasks in terms of effort spent across similar to other tools like Agile Central, Urban Turtle etc.

It's not a "limitation", it's just supporting Scrum properly.

You should not be doing sprint estimates on non-sprint items such as sub-tasks.

I would like to request you to check board column status mapping also for the above please check that remaining estimate and time spent is enabled in that board.
