Can Dashboard Pie charts be created using only some of the labels applied on the ticket?

Marina Culeasca March 15, 2021

Hi!

I have multiple labels applied on the same tickets, based on the type of the change that the ticket brings.

I want to create a pie chart on a dashboard that only uses some of the labels, not all.

Is there a way to do such thing?

Creating a filter only based on desired labels and using it on the dashboard along with Statistic Type = Labels is not working.

Thanks!

Hi @Marina Culeasca

What is your use case for dashboard ?What do you want to display or measure ?

Based on your info you could use Two dimensional filter statistics with filter defining which labels you want.

Anyway what is your problem with Piechart and Filter ? Not working means it is not showing correct results or no results at all ?

Does your saved filter look something like this ?

project = "project name" AND labels in (test, test1) order by createdDate DESC

On the other hand using saved filter on this means if you will add new label you will have to always update a filter too.

Hi @Marina Culeasca ,

I'm not aware of a way this can be achieved using the out of the box reports but this was one of the use cases we had in mind when creating Custom Charts for Jira.

You can selectively hide the labels you don't want to display simply by clicking the "Hide" button next to the label.

Here is an example from our interactive app playground:

I hope that helps answer your question.
