Can I clone a project and keep the epics, tasks, and sub-tasks?

I need to duplicate my projects then make small modifications; I would want to avoid starting from scratch.

No this is not possible. However, you could then clone the epics into the new project. See this question for more info on this: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/92463
