Can I configure Links between Issue to just allow a certain Issue Type for that particular link?

I Want to restrict the useage of links bewteen Issues, s.t. a certain type can just be connected to another type by a certain link. Or lets turn it around, I want to restrcit the issuetypes for a ceratin link.

e.g.

Define a Link ("Re realizes Story"), which just allows issuetype "requirement" on the outgoing side and "UserStory" on the incoming Side.

Is that pssible in any way?

You can't do it natively, but you could do with either or both of javascript and a validator... to make it work properly you might need to disable the issue link operation, so users can only create a link on edit or transition.

If you don't do that it's not possible to validate the link.

Well, that s too bad.. Is there Plugin out there, which allows Custom Fields to be defined as Issue-Link?

It would be great, if it works with Jira 5.. but the progress seems to be poor..:/
