Can I create multiple boards in scrum software project in free jira ?

I'm trying to create multiple boards in my project, but the 2nd field - Project name,  which is mandatory, gives invalid remark even if I enter same project name

Like other guys said, you can create multiple board for a project IF it's an enterprise managed project. If it's a team managed project you can have only one board for the project.

Yes, you can create multiple boards for a project. 

The only thing I can think of where you could get an error is if you select "Create board for new project" and you don't have permissions to create projects.
