Can I give users edit permission to tickets, but only when the issue is unconfirmed?

I have a development team and a support team.

The support team can file issues in JIRA for development to look at.

I would like to give the support team permission to edit the title / description / etc for issues they have filed, until development changes the status to confirmed.

That is: they should only be able to edit while the issue is marked as open.

We progress issues from open -> confirmed -> in progress -> resolved.

Is it possible?

I've tried to configure it but can't find a way to make the permission conditional on the issue status.

Hey Chris

You can do that kind of thing changing your workflow properties. This link have a pretty good step-by-step on how to make it done.

Basically you will create some properties on the workflow steps that you would change permission.

If you are unfamilliar with workflows please take a look on this document.

Hope this helps!
